Quest Code Tester 1.8.1 available for beta testing
Current Version: 1.8.1.340
Released On: May 14, 2008
A new beta version of Quest Code Tester for Oracle is now available for download.
This version has several bug
fixes and enhancements, the most critical of which are:
-
NEW Support for 11g - You can
now use Code Tester with Oracle 11g, with the following restriction: the
RESULT CACHE clause will have to be commented out of your program headers for
the initial creation of your test definition. You may also encounter a problem
if you have the Code Tester repository installed
in more than one
schema, and one of them has public synonyms defined.
-
Export/import - several other bugs
were identified in export
and import; press on link below for more details.
View all the features and fixes.
Downloading the Beta
To download Quest Code Tester for Oracle, read the usage agreement and then click on the link
below. This will indicate that you have read and agree with the statement, and the download will
begin. If you are a participant in the beta program, you will be notified via the Beta Forum. Please add a watch to this forum
if you wish to keep up to date with the latest news.
Once you have downloaded the install EXE, run the file, and you will be guided through the installation process. Requirements for installation are as follows:
- If you have previously used an older version of Quest
Code Tester, you must upgrade the Client and Server pieces.
- You should install the beta version into a schema different from the one in which you are currently storing your test definitions (the Code Tester repository). Then you can export a test definition from the current repository and import them into your beta repository, this will ensure that this beta version does not introduce problems in your tests.
- You must be using Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows 2003, or Vista to run the front end.
- You must have access to, or have installed, Oracle 9i Database Release 2.0.6 higher.
- Oracle client software for Oracle 9i Database Release 2 or above must also be installed
- You will need to be able to connect to a schema that
allows you to create tables, views, sequences and stored code. If such a
schema is not yet available, you will need to ask your DBA to connect an
account with sufficient privileges to create that schema.
